If you’re a reader then you’re probably very specific about how your books are presented. I get it! There are many different types of bookshelf organization, from alphabetized to by colour, and it’s all about preference.
Are you ready to give your bookshelf a refresh? Here are three ways to organize your bookshelf.
By Author
This is the most traditional way of bookshelf organization and probably the most popular. Plenty of book lovers often believe that books need to be organized alphabetically by author. This way books in a series aren’t separated and it’s easy to find everything. If you’re really big on organization and order, this is probably the best method of bookshelf organization for you.
By Colour
Once I organized my bookshelf by colour, I never went back. It looks so aesthetically pleasing and makes me so happy for all the covers to be organized like a rainbow. Sometimes, it’s difficult finding a book if I don’t know what colour the sleeve is, but it’s never bothered me.
Some people hate this method of organization because books in a series are separated, but it’s not something that bothers me.
This method of bookshelf organization is great if you have a lot of books and want them to look aesthetically pleasing.
For the Aesthetics
I know a lot of people hate this way of bookshelf organization, but some people don’t want book covers to ruin the aesthetic of their home, so they place them on the shelf with the pages facing out.
I’ve tried this method, just to see what it’s like, and it wasn’t for me. I reread my books often, so it was horrible not knowing which book was where.
If you don’t read your books often, or you don’t have a lot of books, this might be a great way to organize your bookshelf.
What’s your favourite way to organize books?
