I know it’s technically still fall, however, it already feels like winter where I live. Despite all the snow on the ground, I wanted to share my fall favourites. Keep reading to see what I’ve been loving in terms of music, beauty, fitness and more!
Closet Cleanouts
I had a moment a few weeks ago where I just absolutely hated everything in my closet. I was getting ready to go for dinner and I realized I had no “nice” dinner outfits. I’ve been reevaluating my style and I realized that I don’t love a lot of pieces in my closet. I immediately went and did a closet clean out and got rid of everything I either don’t love or haven’t worn in a long time. I felt relieved.
I’m working on slowly buying pieces that are timeless and that I really enjoy. My goal is to end up with a capsule wardrobe that feels seamless and classic (click here to read about how to create a capsule wardrobe of your own).
Mixing Apple Cider Vinegar in Water
I was sick for about two weeks in September, and it was horrible. I had the worst cough that wouldn’t go away. I decided to buy a bottle of apple cider vinegar, as I’ve read about the health benefits and always wanted to try it. I added a spoonful of apple cider vinegar to my water every morning, and I noticed that I didn’t bloat during the day as opposed to days when I didn’t drink it in the morning. Mixing apple cider vinegar in my water has become a staple in my morning routine.
Skin Cycling
I was hooked on skin cycling as soon as it popped up on my For You page on TikTok. Skin Cycling is a process where you rotate your nighttime skincare routine in a four-day cycle that goes: Exfoliation, retinoids, and two rest days. My skin noticeably cleared up as soon as I started skin cycling and has been more hydrated than ever. Read more about skin cycling and the products I use here!
White Pumpkin and Chai from Bath and Body Works
I know that the Christmas collection is already out at Bath & Body Works, but I’ve been loving the White Pumpkin and Chai scent. It’s sweet, and smells like cinnamon cider, spiced pumpkin and vanilla glaze.
Taylor Swift’s Midnights
I have been a Taylor Swift fan since I was 7-years old, so I was one of the people that stayed up all night when Midnights was released. I haven’t listened to anything else since (other than Christmas music). At first, I didn’t love it, but it’s grown on me so much. My song ranking has changed dramatically since my first listen, but my favourite songs from the album are Midnight Rain and Maroon.
Maison Margiela REPLICA Whispers In The Library
This is my go-to fall perfume because it smells exactly like stepping into a library full of old books. It’s described as warm, spicy, and woody — the perfect combination for fall. Whispers in the Library is a must-have perfume if you’re a book lover.
Spin Classes
I’ve been doing spin for a year already, which seems crazy! But, I love it. I try to go at least twice a week, but there’s been weeks where I’ve gone almost everyday.
If you live in Edmonton, I highly recommend YEG Cycle. There are two locations — Whyte Ave and Jasper Ave — and the best thing about YEG Cycle is the range of instructors, music and class times. I don’t like spin classes where the music is all EDM (I did way too many of these in university), which is why I love YEG Cycle’s variety. There are instructors who DO play EDM, but there’s also instructors who play current hits, country music, and throwbacks.
My ultimate favourite thing about YEG Cycle is that the bikes don’t have screens, so they don’t track your calories, RPM or amount of tension. At YEG Cycle, it’s all about how you feel and you push yourself with guidance from the instructor. Use my code KATT10 to buy your first pass and try it out!
What have you been loving this fall?
