My lips have been extremely dry this season and I’m so grateful to have the Kaja Lip Bento Balm and Scrub on hand.
I received this product as a birthday gift from a friend and I was so excited to try it. I love Kaja’s packaging and brand, and you can never have too many lip balms.
The Product
The Kaja Lip Bento Balm and Scrub retails for $25 CAD and is a two-in-one stacked lip balm and lip scrub that softens and smooths lips. Its nourishing formula leaves lips flake-free while the scrub gently buffs away dry flakes before melting into the lips. It comes in two shades: Strawberry Rose and Piña Colada – transparent.
The highlighted ingredients are:
- Grape seed oil, which hydrates lips
- Strawberry fruit extract to moisturize and exfoliate
- Vitamin E and olive squalane, which soften and moisturizes skin
First, use a tiny dot of the scrub to exfoliate the lips. The product gently exfoliates and melts into the lips after rubbing it in. Use the balm after to soften the lips.
The Review
My favourite thing about the Kaja Lip Bento Balm and Scrub is the packaging. It’s so convenient having the two lip products in one container and it reminds me to use the exfoliant.
I never used to use lip exfoliants, but I use this one at least weekly during my Sunday self care routine. The exfoliant is extremely gentle compared to other lip exfoliants I’ve used and buffs away any dryness. It’s been particularly effective during the winter when my lips are especially dry.
You only need a tiny dot of exfoliant, and even that may be too much. My only complaint is that, depending on much product you use, it takes a long time to exfoliate. The product description says that the exfoliant will melt into your lips as you rub it in, however, the more product you use, the longer this takes to do. I find myself getting bored, but that’s because I’m inpatient. I also find that rarely all of the product melts away. I usually have to wipe the remnants off my lips before using the balm.
The balm is moisturizing and feels soft on the lips, and I use it more than I use the exfoliant. Both the balm and exfoliant are strawberry scented.
Overall, I like the product and have made it a permanent fixture in my Sunday self care routine.
PROS: Two products in one, gentle exfoliator, cute packaging
CONS: Exfoliant doesn’t completely melt away
Would I buy this product again? I can see myself buying this product (and other Kaja products) in the future!
