Ice cream can be a remedy for anything, even the extremely cold and rainy weather we’ve had all summer. I mapped out the best Edmonton ice cream shops to help you get over your summer blues. I tried a scoop from each place to give you guys the best guide to ice cream in Edmonton.
At each ice cream shop I went to, I gave the ice cream a rating out of 5 for taste, presentation, price, and variety. A 5 would be the best taste, most Instagrammable presentation, best deal or price, and most variety. I added the four totals to create a combined final total out of 20, which determines its ranking on the list.
Without further ado, let’s begin the journey to the best ice cream!
↳ Marble Slab
Marble Slab is usually my go-to place when I’m hit with a craving for ice cream. It’s convenient, has lots of options, and never disappoints. If you’re from a city with a lot of chain restaurants, then you probably have a marble slab near you.
It is also reasonably priced compared to local shops, and you get unlimited toppings (always a bonus). The price for a medium-sized cup of ice cream is $6.45, but there are small and large sizes as well.
My go-to flavour is cheesecake with brownies, cookie dough, coconut, and M&M’s for toppings. While the fuzzy peaches often tempt me and might tempt you, I’d recommend not getting them as they freeze in the ice cream and become too hard to bite. With 16

↳ Mish Mash Parfait & Ice cream
If you haven’t heard of Mish Mash yet, you should definitely check them out. The Mish Mash Parfait & Ice cream truck debuted this spring by Scoop n’ Roll and its menu features parfaits and soft-serve cones. While their menu is a bit bare, they switch up the flavours and parfait combinations every few weeks to keep up the excitement.
The soft-serve comes in chocolate, vanilla, or swirl and there are a handful of toppings to choose from to make it your own. There are two parfait options and they also come with two ice cream options each. They are combined with yummy mix-ins such as Oreos and brownies.
The soft serve retails for $6 and the parfaits for $8. While this may seem a bit pricey, you get what you pay for as the sizes are huge.
During my visit to the truck, I decided to try the chocolate parfait with vanilla and chocolate twist. It was the most delicious ice cream I’ve had in a while. I seriously recommend trying the ice cream from this adorable truck if you get the chance. It is located conveniently in the Kingsway parking lot all summer long!

↳ Scoop N’ Roll
If you haven’t heard of Scoop N’ Roll by now, you’ve probably been living under a rock for the past few years. Known for it’s hand-crafted rolled ice cream, Scoop N’ Roll started in 2015 and is a local summertime
Prior to this, I had never tried Scoop N’ Roll’s ice cream before. I wasn’t sure if it would live up to the hype, but I am pleased to say that it was amazing. I felt a bit overwhelmed when ordering so I don’t think I got my dream ice cream and mix-in combination, but what I did order was pretty delicious.
I ordered coconut ice cream with M&M’s,

↳ 80 Flavours
As you might have guessed from the title, the 80 flavours ice cream truck has exactly 80 flavours. This truck is truly an ice cream lovers heaven. Not only is there ice cream, but there is also sorbet, frozen yogurt, and sherbet. For those who may not feel well after eating dairy, there are even a few lactose-free flavours! There is truly something for everyone to enjoy.
Not only is there a ton of options, but it is reasonably priced as well. It is $4 for one scoop, $6 for two scoops, and a dollar extra if you want your treat in a waffle cone. I was a bit hesitant to try this place because I don’t love eating ice cream out of a cone – I’m more of a cup girl, but, it turns out they have that option as well!
While it was extremely hard to choose from all the amazing flavours, I decided to go with caramel praline and Nanaimo brownie. Let me tell you, I wasn’t expecting anything great, but I was extremely surprised by not only how large the scoops were, but also by how amazing it tasted. For two scoops, they give you a lot of ice cream. I couldn’t even finish mine!
The caramel praline flavour was so delicious. The Nanaimo brownie was okay, but the brownie chunks made it a lot better than it was. Overall, 80 Flavours really surprised me and I would definitely go there again if I was in need of an ice cream fix.

↳ Made by Marcus
Made by Marcus is by far the most unique ice cream shop I have ever been to. If you happen to stop in to their Whyte Ave store, you will quickly notice that they don’t sell ordinary flavours. Instead, you’ll find lemon curd blueberry or bee pollen and lavender. Don’t let this scare you away, though, because this might be some of the best ice cream you ever taste.
Made by Marcus only has one location in Edmonton and two locations in Calgary. As I already pointed out, their menu offers interesting never-before-seen flavours, but it also consists of seasonal flavours that rotate every few weeks and vegan flavours. Rumour has it that they are coming out with ice cream sundaes soon as well.
On my visit to Made by Marcus I decided to try two of the vegan flavours – chocolate fudge brownie and tahini cookie dough. The chocolate fudge brownie was absolutely amazing and tasted so good. You couldn’t even tell it was vegan ice cream. I almost wish I had only gotten that flavour because, although the tahini cookie dough was good, the cookie dough bites tasted a bit weird. Overall, both flavours are worth trying if you’re open to new things!
Cost-wise it is very affordable, especially for the amount of ice cream you get. I was sharing a cone with my friend and we decided to only get one scoop, but two flavours because the scoops are huge enough that they can do that. It would have only been $5, but we opted for a waffle cone which was a dollar extra. The amount of ice cream you get for the price is so worth it, as we couldn’t even finish it all.

↳ What’s The Scoop
If you’ve ever taken a walk down Whyte Avenue then you’ve probably come across the bright pink ice cream shack known as What’s the Scoop. What’s the Scoop is the perfect place for stop-and-shop ice cream as its right on the street. They have 54 flavours of ice cream and their cheap prices are another attractive factor.
My friend Brooklyn and I decided to get a one scoop kids cone and it was plenty of ice cream. It was $4.75, but the regular size is $5.75, so that might be a better deal if you want a ton of ice cream. But, we wondered how much more ice cream do you really get? We thought the
