Halloween never used to be one of my favourite holidays. As a kid, I liked getting dressed up and trick or treating, but the holiday is one I’ve grown to love as I’ve gotten older. Dressing up is way more fun and I love the social aspect of it. I also love decorating my home for Halloween with fun Halloween decor.
I started building a collection of Halloween decor and I wanted to share my must-have Halloween decor with you! The best part is all the pieces are budget-friendly. Keep reading to see how I get ready for the spooky holiday with Halloween decor.

Petrifying Potions
Potion bottles are so simple and cute for Halloween. They’re available in both bright and neutral colours, which makes them suitable for any home. Potion bottles are also easy to make if you want to DIY them. Buy any glass jars or bottles from the dollar store or thrift store and print free labels online. Or you can find already made potion bottles at stores like the Dollar Store or Michaels.
You can place potion bottles practically anywhere in your home from desks, side tables, shelves, or even as a centerpiece for your dining table. Buy them made or DIY yourself.
Bewitching Books
I love the look of creepy books and think they are perfect for shelves. I have this book on a stand from Michaels, which I love because of the Macbeth quote. I also love that it’s glittery because it feels a bit glamorous.
The other stack of creepy books I have is also from Michaels and is three books stacked together with a mouse and a camera on top. I love cameras and photography so it felt fitting to have. Again, it’s creepy and spooky without being too much.
Spooky Skeletons
You can’t have Halloween without skeletons! I don’t really like skeletons all that much, but I found this adorable skeleton laying on a lounge reading. I thought it was so funny and girly and completely my style.
Scary Signs
Signs are my favourite type of decor because they come in all sorts of shapes and sizes and add so much to a space. I love getting a variety of signs from wooden, metal, and hanging signs to place around my room. That way they are all slightly different from one another.
I love placing hanging signs on door knobs. They make a room feel festive before you even walk in. I even put a hanging wooden ghost on my vanity drawer. I bought these from the Dollar Store and they are great quality. They look like they’re from a higher end retail store.
I also love signs that I can place on shelves. I bought this “Wicked” sign from Michaels a while back and love putting it on my fireplace. It’s simple, yet cute. I don’t love scary or cheesy decor, which is why I love how understated this Halloween sign is.
Another sign I bought this year is this tin ghost from the Dollar Store. The sign is really great quality and looks adorable on my desk. Again, it doesn’t scream Halloween, but it’s still festive.

I love that the decor pieces are not scary but rather classy and cute.
