Makeup Monday: Rare Beauty Kind Words Matte Lipstick

Rare Beauty is my all time favourite beauty brand, so I was so excited to try the Rare Beauty Kind Words Matte Lipstick when it launched this summer. It was a belated birthday treat to myself and I couldn’t wait to try it out

The Product

The Rare Beauty Kind Words Matte Lipstick retails for $26 CAD and is a pigment-rich, soft matte lipstick available in 10 shades. The formula is hydrating and long-wearing.

The Review

I’ve yet to be disappointed by Rare Beauty. Matte lipsticks aren’t usually my go-to finish, but the Rare Beauty Kind Words Matte Lipstick is hydrating. Most matte lipsticks dry out my lips, but the Rare Beauty Kind Words Matte Lipstick doesn’t crack or dry out at all. 

I bought the Rare Beauty Kind Words Matte Lipstick in the shade “Lively,” a rose pink. It’s the perfect fall colour. It applies smoothly and seamlessly, and doesn’t fade throughout the day. I never have to reapply throughout the work day, even after meals. My only con is that the colour is a bit darker and orange-hued than it looks online. 

Pair the Rare Beauty Kind Words Matte Lipstick with the Rare Beauty Kind Words Lip Liner for the ultimate lip combo. 

PROS: Long wearing & hydrating

CONS: Shades are a bit different in-person than online

Would I buy this again? I’d love to try another shade in this lipstick!
