I love fall so much and I especially love fall fashion. There are so many options to choose from when putting together outfits from shackets, leather jackets, skirts and tights, midi dresses, etc. I love mixing and matching, and I put together my favourite fall clothing trends this year!

Leather jackets
Leather jackets are always on trend and I’ve had fun playing around with different styles this fall. I bought this baggy leather button up jacket from Simons and it’s become my go-to jacket. It’s oversized and easygoing. It’s perfect to throw on for dinner or if you want to dress up a plain t-shirt. I typically style it with a pair of jeans and a basic shirt with gold jewelry.
I’ve also been obsessed with leather blazers. I bought this one from Oak + Fort and I’ve been wearing it constantly. Again, I love wearing this blazer over jeans and a t-shirt. It dresses up any outfit and passes as business casual at my workplace. I feel extremely confident in this leather blazer and it’s comfortable, too.
Shackets
Shackets are a classic and they are so comfortable. I only own one, but I did put together a list of my favourite shackets here. I bought a neutral camel coloured shacket from Abercrombie last year and the colour goes with everything.
I love wearing it with skinny jeans, a t-shirt, and sneakers OR ankle boots if I’m feeling snazzy. This one isn’t very warm or oversized, but I know there are lots of different shackets on the market.
Fall Florals
Florals may be fitting for Spring, but I believe they can be worn any season. I was obsessed with this burgundy short-sleeved smocked midi dress from Abercrombie as soon as I saw it. I knew it was going to be my go-to fall dress. I love that it’s a midi dress because I don’t have to worry about wearing tights or freezing my legs. It’s also incredibly comfortable and has pockets, which is always a plus. I would buy this dress in every colour if I could.
I’ve also been loving this satin a-line mini skirt from Dynamite. The blue, orange, and yellow colours are so gorgeous and make me think of fall. This skirt can be worn on its own or with tights, which I like because I can wear it throughout fall and into winter. It can also be worn on any occasion and it looks great paired with a jacket, like a leather blazer.
Midi Skirts
I always had the mindset that I couldn’t wear midi or maxi skirts because I was short, but boy was I wrong. I love wearing midi skirts, especially in the fall. I don’t have to wear tights and they cover my legs enough to prevent them from getting too cold.
The Babaton Jude Skirt from Aritzia is my go-to midi skirt for fall because of the gorgeous rust colour. It pairs beautifully with sweaters and turtlenecks, and makes for an elegant yet simple outfit.
Plaids
Plaid is a classic fall pattern and you really can’t go wrong with it. There are plaid shirts, skirts, jackets, sweaters — you name it! I love this simple black and white plaid knit skirt from Simons. The material is soft and stretchy which makes it comfortable to wear out and about. I love the all black look. I don’t typically buy a lot of black clothes, but I love this outfit because it fits the edgy mood of fall.
I also love warm plaids like this brown plaid blazer coat from Abercrombie. It pairs super well with creams and whites, like this belted shirt dress from Dynamite.
Sweater Vests
Sweater vests have been super trendy this year, but I wasn’t sold on them at first. I decided to buy a cream sweater vest from Abercrombie and I fell in love. It’s so soft and looks amazing paired over poplin shirts and turtlenecks.
For a casual night out, I paired it with a white poplin shirt, black skinny jeans, and snakeskin boots. It’s such a comfy outfit and the cream sweater vest looks so great against the white shirt. The outfit is simple, but the difference in textures and layers add so much.
