I love having routines and my work day morning routine is no different. Creating routines for yourself keeps you balanced and on track, whether you’re working or in school.
I work in-person at the office, which was a huge change from working remotely for a year. It took me a while to figure out what my morning routine should be, and now, I can’t imagine not having my routine.
There are many reasons why you should have a work day morning routine. The most important reason is that it saves you time. You can wake up at the same time every morning and know exactly what you have to do. I have my work day morning routine down to the minute. I know exactly how much time it takes me to do each morning task.
You can also adapt your morning routine depending on your lifestyle. For example, I wake up 20 minutes later on days where I don’t plan on doing my hair. Another good reason to create a morning routine is you won’t feel flustered or rushed in the mornings. I do everything in the same order every day and it helps me stay on track.

6:20 AM ⇨ Rise and shine! I wake up at the same time every morning. Some days it feels harder to get up, but I usually love waking up early. To get moving, I do a 5 minute morning stretch routine as soon as I wake up. My favourite is Madfit’s five minute morning stretch routine.
Afterwards, I do a five minute workout video. I love working out, but I don’t have enough time to do a full workout everyday so I do something quick in the morning. It gets me energized for the morning and feels great! If you need some quick and easy workout ideas, here is a link to my Youtube workouts playlist and a link to my blog post about my favourite at-home workouts!
6:30 AM ⇨ Skincare time! It’s time to wash my face after my mini workout. I cleanse using Darphin’s INTRAL Cleansing Milk with Chamomile followed by Glow Recipe’s Watermelon Glow PHA + BHA Pore-Tight Toner. I use Glow Recipe’s Avocado Ceramide Redness Relief Serum to help with my redness and then I finish off with First Aid Beauty’s Ultra Repair Intense Hydration moisturizer and Farmacy’s Cheer Up Brightening Vitamin C Eye Cream with Acerola Cherry.
6:40 AM ⇨ I do my hair before I do my makeup to allow my skincare to set into my skin. I typically curl my hair with a straightener, and my hair is shoulder length, so it only takes about 15 minutes to do.
7:00 AM ⇨ After my hair is done then it’s time for makeup. I prime my skin using Supergoop’s Unseen Sunscreen because it is super important to wear sunscreen everyday. I like to do a natural makeup look for work so I do the same makeup everyday. I alternate between foundations depending on how I’m feeling in the morning, and you can read about my favourite foundations here.
My go-to everyday makeup products are the Rare Beauty Stay Vulnerable Melting Cream Blush, Benefit Cosmetics Hoola Bronzer, Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter, Milk Makeup Kush High Volumizing Mascara, and the NYX Micro Brow Pencil.
7:25 AM ⇨ Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and I’m pretty hungry by this point. I eat the same breakfast every morning of yogurt, strawberries, and granola. Sometimes I’ll have a bagel if I’m hungrier than usual.
7:35 AM ⇨ After breakfast, I make my lunch for the day. I’m a snacker, so I need to pack lots of food. I make a sandwich for lunch and then pack grapes, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, and a banana to snack on in the morning and afternoon.
7:45 AM ⇨ Time to brush my teeth and get dressed. I plan my outfits the night before so that getting dressed in the morning is super easy. I pack my purse after I get dressed to make sure I have everything I need including essentials like a mask and my airpods.
8:00 AM ⇨ I leave the house to go to the office around 8:15 AM, so I make coffee before I head out and spend some time with my pets! I don’t like being rushed in the morning and love having a few minutes to myself before going to work.
That’s my work day morning routine! What does your morning work day routine look like?

I need a morning routine. I work from home so some days I don’t get up until 9 if I’m feeling like I need extra sleep. I feel bad some days because my boyfriend gets up at 5:45 for work. I just kind of wing it in the morning but I think I’d do way better with a routine. Thanks for sharing your routine!

Love this- your mornings sound so organised! Looking to push my routine back an hour earlier, 6am wake-ups are the best!

Thank you! They are pretty organized! I’d fall apart without organization lol!

Wow! What a great morning routine! I definitely find that waking up at a similar time everyday is so helpful. A morning workout is a part of my morning routine to get those endorphins flowing and set me up for a great day!

Yes, exactly! Thank you so much for commenting!
