My Work Week Night Routine

If you know me then you know I love my routines, but it wasn’t until recently that I created a work week night routine. Let me tell you, it was necessary. I was going to bed whenever I wanted and waking up at 6 a.m. for work, which wasn’t pleasant. The lack of routine and sleep negatively impacted my productivity levels throughout the day.

Creating a work week night routine is essential, even if you work from home. It’s important to set boundaries for yourself so you don’t burn out. I noticed my mood and overall mental health increased as soon as I kept to my work week night routine, and I always regret straying from my routine if I do.

Creating a work week night routine isn’t hard at all, and it will become a habit once you stick to it for a few days. Keep reading to see the essential parts of my work week night routine that you can adapt into your own routine.

Some of my posts contain affiliate links. If you click on an affiliate link and buy something, I may receive a very small commission. It does NOT result in additional charges to you or cost you anything extra.

My work week night routine typically begins at 8:30 p.m., but sometimes I’ll start earlier if I’m feeling extra tired that day. I set up my phone to lock all of my social media apps at this time, so I don’t feel tempted by notifications. My number one tip is to stay off your phone for at least an hour before bed. Staying off your phone reduces brain activity and you won’t feel drowsy from the excess blue light.

Skincare

Mario Badescu Facial Spray

I begin my night routine by taking off my makeup and doing my skincare routine. This is the best part of my day, especially when I’ve been wearing makeup for more than eight hours.

I keep my nightly skincare routine simple. I use the Farmacy Green Clean Makeup Removing Cleansing Balm to remove my makeup and then I cleanse with the Darphin INTRAL Cleansing Milk with Chamomile. Afterwards, I use the Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow PHA + BHA Pore Tight Toner and the Origins Mega-Mushroom Relief & Resilience Soothing Treatment Lotion. I follow up with the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream Intense Hydration moisturizer and the Farmacy Cheer Up Brightening Vitamin C Eye Cream with Acerola Cherry.

Then I brush my teeth once my skincare routine is done.

Journaling

I like to journal, and it’s something I’m not the best at keeping up to date with, which is why I’ve included it in my nightly routine. I used to go weeks or even months without journaling, and now it’s something I do every night. I like to recap my day, even if nothing exciting happened. It’s nice to have it documented and it feels great to release all my thoughts into one place.

I also like to manifest my goals. I have a manifestation journal where I write down my current goals. Then I’ll listen to affirmation videos on Youtube to continue the good energy flow.

Reading

Reading is my favourite pastime, and it’s something I don’t have a lot of time to do during the work week. I end my night by reading at least one chapter of a book and one story from a magazine. It tires my brain and prepares me for sleep.
