The Product
The Laneige Water Bank Blue Hyaluronic Cream Moisturizer retails for $52 CAD and is a moisturizer that visibly firms and strengthens the skin’s moisture barrier while delivering long lasting hydration.
The lightweight cream is compatible with all skin types and targets dryness, dullness and uneven texture.
The highlighted ingredients are:
- Blue hyaluronic acid, which delivers effective, long-lasting hydration, and
- Squalane and ceramide, which provide nourishing moisture.
The main difference between the improved Laneige Water Bank Blue Hyaluronic Cream Moisturizer and the old version is the new version has blue hyaluronic acid as opposed to regular hyaluronic acid. Blue hyaluronic acid is fermented with deep sea algae and put through a 10-step microfiltration process. It’s micro sized to absorb better and faster for intense, lasting hydration.
The Laneige Water Bank Blue Hyaluronic Cream Moisturizer is hypoallergenic, dermatologist-tested, and suitable for sensitive skin.
The Review
I’ve used the old version and I really liked it, but it wasn’t a standout product that I repurchased. I was recently on the market for a new moisturizer, and knew that Laneige recently launched the improved Water Bank Blue Hyaluronic Cream Moisturizer. I asked a Sephora employee what moisturizer she’d recommend, and she pointed me towards that one. She said it’s great for dry skin and it absorbs into the skin as opposed to sitting on top, which is what my previous moisturizer did.
The first thing I want to touch on is the packaging. It’s so sleek and classic now, and looks clean sitting on the counter. I bought the travel sized version for a recent vacation and then upgraded to the full size afterwards. The travel sized Laneige Water Bank Blue Hyaluronic Cream Moisturizer lasted me about 11 days, which isn’t a lot of time, but it’s a great size if you want to test out the moisturizer. I bought the full size as soon as I got home.
The Laneige Water Bank Blue Hyaluronic Cream Moisturizer is extremely lightweight, making it perfect for summer. It doesn’t look greasy and it absorbs quickly into the skin giving a refreshed and glowy look. I’ve never tried a moisturizer that’s felt as hydrating as the Laneige Water Bank Blue Hyaluronic Cream Moisturizer. It has a slight scent, but it’s not overwhelming or too fragrant. I also love the applicator it comes with.
The hydration lasts all day long, and makes my foundation look smooth and glassy. I highly recommend the Laniege Water Bank Blue Hyaluronic Cream Moisturizer if you have dry skin and need an extra boost of hydration.
PROS: Long lasting hydration, lightweight
CONS: None
