Skincare Sunday: Skinfix Barrier Foaming Oil Hydrating Cleanser

I am so excited to talk about the Skinfix Barrier Foaming Oil Hydrating Cleanser. All summer, my skin went downhill. I went off birth control in June and I experienced random breakouts that wouldn’t go away and my skin had texture out of nowhere. It was extremely infuriating and I had no idea how to fix it.

At this point, it had been a while since I switched up my skincare routine, so I decided to do the skincare quiz on Sephora’s website. Sephora recommended the Skinfix Barrier Foaming Oil Hydrating Cleanser, so I ordered it because I’ve loved previous Skinfix products I’ve used and I love that they’re gentle on sensitive skin.

The Product

Skinfix Barrier Foaming Oil Hydrating Cleanser

The Skinfix Barrier Foaming Oil Hydrating Cleanser retails for $39 CAD and is a lightly foaming cleanser that removes dirt and makeup without stripping lipids from skin. It is vegan, and sulfate, fragrance, and essential oil-free. The cleanser is compatible with all skin types and targets fine lines and wrinkles, dryness, and redness.

The highlighted ingredients include:

  • Hydrating Triple-Lipid Complex, a skin-similar blend that restores ceramide and fatty acid levels.
  • Visibly Plumping Seaweed Hyaluronate Blend, which includes small particles that intensely hydrate for dewy, glass-like skin,
  • Hydrating Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, a humectant rich in vitamins, antioxidants, minerals, and amino acids

This pH-balanced milky cleanser is clinically demonstrated to increase hydration, smooth the look of uneven texture, and visibly reduce blotchiness and redness. It is also a 2018 allure Best of Beauty award-winner.

The Review

I was nervous because oil is in the product’s name, and I didn’t want this product to make my skin oily. I’m happy to report that it doesn’t. The cleanser is a lightweight cream that gently cleanses the face and leaves it feeling soft. Some cleansers I’ve tried in the past made my skin feel dry and tight after using, and this one doesn’t.

The Skinfix Barrier Foaming Oil Hydrating Cleanser removes makeup easily and I never have to go in a second time to remove leftover makeup. It is a foaming cleanser, which I typically don’t love, but the foam from this cleanser is minimal and also doesn’t hurt if you accidentally get it in your eyes.

I love that the Skinfix Barrier Foaming Oil Hydrating Cleanser is fragrance free because it doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin. My skin has cleared up since I started using the Barrier Foaming Oil Hydrating Cleanser. The texture around my chin is almost gone after using the cleanser for a month and my redness is significantly reduced. I’m extremely happy with the Skinfix Barrier Foaming Oil Hydrating Cleanser!

PROS: Gentle, fragrance-free, effectively reduces texture and redness

CONS: None

Would I purchase this product again? Yes!
