The Product
The Sunday Riley CEO Vitamin C Brightening Serum retails for $112 CAD and is an advanced serum with plant saccharides and 15 per cent vitamin C (THD ascorbate). The serum is compatible with all skin types and works to visibly minimize pores, brighten dark spots and target signs of aging.
The highlighted ingredients are:
– Advanced vitamin C (THD Ascorbate), which is a more stable version of vitamin C that targets visible signs of aging including dullness, loss of firmness, fine lines, wrinkles, dark spots and redness,
– Phytosterols complex, which reduces the look of redness due to skin sensitivity, and
– Saccharide isomerate extract, which minimizes the appearance of pores while supporting the skin’s moisture barrier for a smooth, youthful, glowing look.
Sunday Riley recommends applying two pumps in the morning, and after cleansing at night for radiant skin in the morning.
The Review
I’ve tried other vitamin C serums before, some that I loved and some average ones. Honestly, Sunday Riley is way too expensive for me, but I love its products (like the Sunday Riley Good Genes Lactic Acid Treatment), so I was excited when I got a sample of the Sunday Riley CEO Vitamin C Brightening Serum from Sephora. I’ve been wearing it all week so I could write this review.
The Sunday Riley CEO Vitamin C Brightening Serum is more of a cream serum than a liquid serum, which I like. I feel like it soaks into the skin better, but that’s just a personal preference. It’s gentle and doesn’t smell overwhelmingly like orange, which is great because a lot of vitamin C serums have a lot of fragrance.
My skin is sensitive, and some vitamin C serums irritate my skin, but I had no issues with the Sunday Riley CEO Vitamin C Brightening Serum. The real question is, does the product work? Yes. My skin is noticeably brighter and glowier than on days when I don’t use the serum.
I know it’s not always true that expensive products work better, but every Sunday Riley product I’ve tried has exceeded my expectations.
PROS: Noticeably brightens skin, creamy, doesn’t irritate skin
CONS: Expensive
Would I buy this again? Maybe. It’s super expensive which is hard for me to justify, but I do love the product.
