Skincare Sunday: The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% and B5 Hydrating Serum

Happy Skincare Sunday! Recently, I’ve been skin cycling, which prompted me to buy The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% and B5 Hydrating Serum. I’ve tried The Ordinary products in the past and enjoyed them, so I was excited to try another.

My favourite thing about The Ordinary products are the prices, as well as all the good reviews they have.

The Product

The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% and B5 Hydrating Serum

The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% and B5 Hydrating Serum retails for $8.50 CAD and is a hydrating formula with ultra-pure, vegan hyaluronic acid. It’s compatible with all skin types and targets dryness.

The formulation combines low, medium, and high molecular weight hyaluronic acid, as well as a next-generation H.A. crosspolymer at a combined concentration of two percent for multi-depth hydration. This system is supported with the addition of B5 for enhanced hydration.

The Review

The best way to use hyaluronic acid is on damp skin, so I typically use The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% and B5 Hydrating Serum after showering. I mentioned above that I’ve been skin cycling, so I only use The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% and B5 Hydrating Serum two nights a week on my rest days as part of my nighttime skincare routine.

Before skin cycling, my skin was extremely dry, however, that’s changed drastically and I have no doubts that The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% and B5 Hydrating Serum has played a part. My skin feels extra hydrated after using it and I’ve had no problems since adding it to my skincare routine.

Honestly, I don’t always use it twice a week, so I wouldn’t say it’s an essential part of my skincare routine, but I do enjoy using it. If you have dry skin, this is definitely a must-have for you.

PROS: Hydrating, inexpensive, great reviews

CONS: None

Would I buy this product again? I might, but one bottle will probably last me a year.
