Sunday is an important day of the week. Not only is it the end of the weekend, but it’s also the start of a new week. It’s important to have a Sunday self care routine to prepare yourself for the week ahead. My Sunday self care routine is my favourite part of the weekend and I look forward to doing it every Sunday!
Having a Sunday self care routine every single weekend has made a huge difference in my attitude. If you aren’t sure what a Sunday self care routine is, it’s something you do every weekend to get you ready for the week ahead.
Recently, I started working my first full time job, so I’ve learned how to cherish my weekend downtime and how to use it to get ready for the week. There is nothing worse than feeling unprepared or rushed, which is why everyone should have a Sunday self care routine. Keep reading to see what I include in my Sunday self care routine!

Stretch & Exercise
I’ve always valued exercise to the point where I’d do hour long workouts five days a week, but unfortunately I don’t have time during the week to fit in a yoga session or workout while working a full time job. Weekends are the best because I have so much free time that I make it a priority to get moving in some way whether it be a short run or a quick Youtube video.
Not only is working out on the weekends perfect if you don’t have time during the week, but it is also a great way to start off your week. You’ll be in a better mood and you’ll feel energized, which will help you start your week off on the right foot.

Meditate & Manifest
Lately I have been really into meditation and manifesting. If you don’t know what manifesting is, it’s where you think about and focus on what you want in life, and if you think about it enough, it will come to you. It’s similar to the law of attraction!
I like to spend at least 5 minutes meditating to prepare for my day and my week. It calms any nerves I might have and clears my mind. Afterwards, I grab my manifestation journal and write down the goals I want to manifest for the week. You can write anything in your manifestation journal from mantras to goals to attitudes.
Doing this practice every Sunday will help you clearly envision what you want to achieve.
Read
Reading is my favourite pastime, but I don’t have as much time to read during the week as I would like. I take full advantage of my free time on weekends to read as much as I can, which means I usually finish whichever book I was reading during the week.
Reading is one of my favourite forms of self care because it feels like taking a break from the world, especially if you’re on your phone or computer a lot during the week like I am. Reading allows you to put all of that away and escape.
Clean
This might sound strange, but I can’t be productive unless my space is clean. If my room is messy, it’s all I can think about. I can’t do anything productive until I’ve vacuumed all of my rooms and put away any clutter.
Now, you don’t have to deep clean your whole house every weekend, but clearing up any mess will clear up your mind as well. If you’re feeling stressed about something, clean! It will take your mind off whatever you’re thinking about and it will make you feel productive.
Make a To-Do List
I am an organization freak so making to-do lists is one of my favourite things to do. It is so, so, so important to make a to-do list before the week starts because it will help you compartmentalize everything you’ve got going on.
There’s nothing worse than forgetting a meeting or assignment which is why you want to make your to-do list before Monday comes. Write down everything you need to accomplish for the week so that you know exactly when your deadlines and meetings are, and you won’t feel frazzled about missing a major task.
Being organized is also the key to productivity. Once you’ve organized yourself, you’ll be completing tasks like they’re nothing.
Buy Groceries
Grocery shopping is an integral part of my Sunday self care routine. After I make my to-do list for the week, I also make a grocery list and then go shopping. I buy everything I’ll need for the week including snacks and lunch for work so that I don’t have to go to the grocery store during the week.
Laundry
Sunday is also laundry day! I love doing all my laundry on Sunday so that everything is washed and ready to go for the week. There is nothing worse than planning an outfit in your head and then realizing last minute that it’s in your laundry hamper.
Incorporating laundry into your Sunday self care routine will ensure that you won’t be scrounging through your dirty laundry looking for your favourite shirt.
Plan Outfits
Another way to feel prepared for the week is to plan your outfits in advance. I think we’ve all had those days where you have an outfit in mind, but then it doesn’t actually look good when you try it on, and then you’re running late because you have nothing to wear.
These days happen often for me which is why I like to put together outfits either a week in advance or the night before. It saves you time in the morning and you don’t have to worry about putting an outfit together.
Skincare Routine
The last part of my Sunday self care routine, and my favourite part, is my skincare routine. I do morning and nightly skincare daily of course, but on Sundays my skincare routine is more extensive.
I start by removing any makeup I might have on with Farmacy’s Green Clean Makeup Removing Cleansing Balm. Then I cleanse my skin with the Darphin INTRAL Cleansing Milk with Chamomile.
Then, it’s time to exfoliate! I use the Peter Thomas Roth FIRMx Exfoliating Peel Gel. This is the best product ever! It literally peels off all your dead skin, which is gross yet satisfying at the same time. I use the Fresh Strawberry Sugar Exfoliating Face Wash next to clean my skin. This exfoliator is perfect for anyone with sensitive skin because it scrubs your skin, but it’s not harsh.
I use Lush’s Cup O’ Coffee face mask next. After my mask, I start my regular skincare routine. I use Glow Recipe’s Watermelon Glow PHA + BHA Pore-Tight Toner which I follow up with Farmacy’s Honeymoon Glow Serum. To finish, I use First Aid Beauty’s Ultra Repair Cream Intense Hydration and Farmacy’s Cheer Up Brightening Vitamin C Eye Cream with Acerola Cherry. I love going to sleep with my face looking like a glazed donut. Anyone else?

I use Sundays to plan my to-do list too! I find it’s easier to set my goals and intentions the day before Monday, and I often refer it as a “favour to my future self”, haha. I love your self-care Sunday routine, Katrina!
