It’s no secret that I love romance books. Romance is by far my favourite genre and I am always shopping for more books. Last year, I wrote about 10 Books to Read for Valentine’s Day, and I wanted to do something similar this year, but wasn’t sure what… until I came up with a great idea.
I created a master list of my all-time favourite romance books and series. I plan to keep adding to the list as I read more romance books, so keep reading for some book inspiration!
The Kiss Quotient Series by Helen Hoang
The Kiss Quotient series by Helen Hoang has three books in it: The Kiss Quotient, The Bride Test and The Heart Principle. The first book, The Kiss Quotient, is super spicy and a well-written romance. The plot is unique, the characters are complex and I couldn’t put it down when I read it. The following books are also great reads, but I highly recommend the first book.
The Royal We by Heather Cocks and Jessica Morgan
The Royal We and The Heir Affair are must-read books for anyone obsessed with royalty. They’re loosely based on The Royal Family, and follow an American college student who studies abroad in the UK and is in the same friend group as the prince. There’s so much drama and romance. I’m obsessed.
Well Met Series by Jen DeLuca
The Well Met series by Jen DeLuca is underrated. I don’t see many people talking about it, but I love it and think more people should. There are four books in the series: Well Met, Well Played, Well Matched and Well Traveled. I’ve only read the first book, but I loved it a lot. The plot revolves around a woman who moves to a small town to help out her sister who’s a single mother and suffered injuries after a car accident. She volunteers for the town’s annual renaissance festival with her niece and ends up falling for the organizer. It’s very romantic and a light, easy read.
A League of Extraordinary Women by Evie Dunmore
I’ll preface by saying this series might not be for everyone, but it’s one of my favourites. It’s a historical romance series about the women’s rights movement at Oxford University. Each book follows a different lady from the suffrage group. There’s four books in the series: Bringing Down the Duke, A Rogue of One’s Own, Portrait of a Scotsman and The Gentleman’s Gambit.
The Bromance Book Club Series by Lyssa Kay Adams
The Bromance Book Club is a really great and funny romance series about a baseball team that has a book club where they read romances as a way to better understand the females in their lives. It’s extremely hilarious and I highly recommend it if you need a lighthearted romance to read. There’s four books in the series: The Bromance Book Club, Undercover Bromance, Crazy Stupid Bromance, and Isn’t It Bromantic?
Sally Thorne Books
Sally Thorne is one of my favourite romance writers. She has three books: The Hating Game, 99 Percent Mine and Second First Impressions. Everyone raves about The Hating Game on Tik Tok and there’s even a movie adaptation starring Lucy Hale. It’s one of the best romance books I’ve ever read. It’s enemies to lovers and everything about it is great. Thorne writes in a give-and-take way that keeps you invested, and her other books are also great reads.
Other Notable Mentions
These are a few more romance books that I love and felt compelled to mention!
The Friend Zone by Abby Jimenez = complex stories, enemies to friends to lovers
Tools of Engagement by Tessa Bailey and The Honey-Don’t List by Christina Lauren = for the HGTV lover
Happy Singles Day by Ann Marie Walker = a Hallmark movie in book-form
The Flatshare by Beth O’Leary = two strangers are roommates and write letters to each other because they’re never in the apartment at the same time
