Dad Coat
I decided to hop on the dad coat bandwagon in 2020 by purchasing this beautiful cream coloured Abercrombie Wool Blend Dad Coat.
I was hesitant about joining the dad coat fan club because I am super short (5’2) and didn’t want the coat hitting my ankles, but this coat fit perfectly. The length was exactly where I wanted it.
The Abercrombie Wool Blend Dad Coat comes in a variety of colours so that you can find the colour that suits you and your style the best. It comes in short, regular, and long lengths. It retails for $220, but is currently on sale for $132.
Having a long dress coat will keep you warm all winter, but it also dresses up any outfit. It is super versatile and you can’t go wrong with owning one of these coats. Shop the post below for some inexpensive options of this coat!
Plaid Blazer Coat
You can never have too many coats, which is why I think everyone needs at least one blazer coat. They look professional, but they are also warm, and look great dressed up or down.
My favourite is the Abercrombie Wool-Blend Blazer Coat and it is super high quality. It is thick and warm, and has the most beautiful plaid pattern. It retails for $200 and is on clearance for $79. There’s limited sizes left so get yours quick!
The blazer coat is a must-have transitional piece from fall to winter to spring. Shop the post below for more blazer coat options!
Basic turtleneck
Everybody needs at least one basic turtleneck in their wardrobe. I love neutral turtlenecks for winter because they can be worn with practically anything.
Having a white and black turtleneck will be a life-saver and will make getting dressed so much easier. Throw it on with a skirt, pants, or jeans with a jacket over top and you’re ready to go, and you’ll look put together.
They are easy to style and you can experiment with bright colours and fun patterns if that’s more up your alley. If turtlenecks aren’t your style, try mock necks! They look like turtlenecks and are way comfier.
There are so many inexpensive turtleneck options. Shop some of my picks below.
Shirt Jacket
The best thing about the “shacket” is that it is great for warmer weather. If you live somewhere where winters are extremely mild then this is a must-have for your closet. They are light-weight but can be warm depending on the brand and style. Shackets can also be layered under thin sweaters or turtlenecks for a warmer look.
My go-to shacket is the Abercrombie Cozy Shirt Jacket, but there are so many to choose from because of how on-trend they are. Check out my 6 favourite shirt jackets here!
Comfy cardigan
You can’t go wrong with a comfy cardigan. They are easy to throw on, especially if you’re lacking outfit inspiration. They can also be dressed down or up, which makes them great for every occasion.
My favourite cardigan lately is the Abercrombie Side Slit Cotton-Blend Cardigan. I love it because it’s short and those can be hard to find. I have lots of long cardigans, but I grab this one more. It is also super thick without being too warm or heavy. It’s perfect for transitioning into spring.
Sweater Dress
Sweater dresses are the epitome of winter fashion. They are comfy, classy, and so easy to wear. They are a must-have!
Sweater dresses can be baggy or tight, so it’s easy to find the fit that you like best. This piece will have you looking effortlessly cute, even though you threw it on five minutes before leaving the house.
My favourite way to style sweater dresses is with tights and ankle boots. Shop my favourite sweater dresses below.
I hope my winter wardrobe essentials gave you some inspiration for your own winter wardrobe!

I am also tired of winter! Actually, at this moment in Germany, it’s not very cold, but the sun is a really missing element in the sky. Anyway, my latest order was a black sweater dress and I love it! ♥ This is one of the best things I have bought the last time because it’s perfect for this kind of weather!
Nice list and blog post! 😉
