Tucked away in Cameron Heights, Malina Bakery is your one-stop shop for delicious drinks, pastries, and Ukrainian food.
I’ll admit, I hate driving on the Anthony Henday. I live downtown so it’s never convenient for me to take that route, however, it is the only way to get to the Cameron Heights neighbourhood in West Edmonton. This is annoying, but it’s so worth it to get to Malina Bakery.
Malina Bakery offers a classic cafe menu of coffee, lattes, and other drinks, such as Italian Sodas. What makes the bakery unique is its inclusion of Ukrainian flavours, such as the Ukrainian Latte.
When you walk in, you’ll be blown away by the pastry display case. It honestly took me about 10 minutes to decide what I wanted to order, and I’m usually a pretty decisive person. There are cakes, small desserts, cinnamon buns, as well as a variety of Ukrainian pastries.
I ended up going with an iced hazelnut latte and a cinnamon bun. I was extremely pleased with my decision. The latte was refreshing and flavourful, while the bun was oversized and had the perfect amount of icing. There are plenty of tables inside, as well as outdoor seating, so that you can sit and enjoy your coffee and pastry.
Malina also has a food menu featuring soups, perogies, cabbage rolls, and more. There’s also a brunch menu if you’re hungry for more than just a pastry.
The best part about Malina Bakery is its selection of homemade frozen Ukrainian food that you can take home to cook. Next time you’re craving perogies, you know where to go.
Malina Bakery is located at 629 Cameron Heights Dr in Edmonton or 150-3001 Buckingham Dr in Sherwood Park.
