The Product
The Laura Mercier Pure Canvas Hydrating Primer retails for $50 CAD at Sephora and comes in a mini version for $26 CAD. The primer is water-based and “promotes long-term moisture recovery while extending wear of makeup.” It is also silicone free.
The Laura Mercier Pure Canvas Primer also comes in blurring, illuminating, and perfecting formulas.
The Review
I always struggled to find a primer that works with my skin until a friend recommended the Laura Mercier Pure Canvas Hydrating Primer. My skin is extremely dry and any foundation looks awful on my skin without primer. It clings to dry spots and separates, or at least it did until I began using the Laura Mercier Pure Canvas Hydrating Primer.
It is the perfect primer for foundation. The cream formula is refreshing on the skin and leaves the skin sort of sticky, which allows the foundation to blend perfectly. The primer has a natural finish so you can even wear it on its own without foundation. Sometimes I’ll put the primer on when I’m not wearing makeup because it prevents my skin from feeling dry or itchy.
I highly recommend the Laura Mercier Pure Canvas Hydrating Primer if you have dry skin and you notice your foundation looks patchy. It makes a huge difference.
PROS: Super hydrating, natural finish, tube lasts a long time, good for all skin types

Would I buy it again? Yes! I’ve already purchased the Laura Mercier Pure Canvas Hydrating Primer two or three times and I’ll continue repurchasing it.
