I’ve tried a few setting sprays before, but I didn’t know just how well a setting spray could work until I tried the ONE/SIZE by Patrick Starr On ‘Til Dawn Mattifying Waterproof Setting Spray.
Like many people, I was influenced to buy this product after seeing Patrick Starr dunk his head underwater wearing a full face of makeup to show how waterproof the setting spray is. I was going to The Eras Tour in Los Angeles and I KNEW I needed to try this product out so that I didn’t sweat and/ or cry all my makeup off.
I used this product all five days that I was in LA and I was thoroughly impressed! Genuinely, there’s no other setting spray like it.

The Product
The ONE/SIZE by Patrick Starr On ‘Til Dawn Mattifying Waterproof Setting Spray retails for $43.50 CAD and is a waterproof setting spray with a matte finish. The product uses an aerosol spray application that is light and non-sticky, preventing wet spots from ruining your makeup.
The formula sets full beat makeup with next-level hold for up to 16 hours and features texture-solving ingredients to absorb oil and help tighten pores. Because it is a matte formula, the ONE/SIZE by Patrick Starr On ‘Til Dawn Mattifying Waterproof Setting Spray is best for oily, combo or normal skin.
The highlighted ingredients are:
- Green tea extract, which helps tighten pores
- Witch hazel, which absorbs oil for a blurred, matte finish
The Review
As I mentioned, I wore the ONE/SIZE by Patrick Starr On ‘Til Dawn Mattifying Waterproof Setting Spray for five days in LA in August. I was wearing makeup for long hours in the heat and then during Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour. I put my entire faith in the ONE/SIZE by Patrick Starr On ‘Til Dawn Mattifying Waterproof Setting Spray and I’m glad I did.
The product sprays like a hairspray and kind of has the same effect — it holds your makeup in place, but it isn’t sticky. The spray is super fine, so it doesn’t leave water droplet marks on your makeup like other setting sprays do. It also smells amazing.
I’m not exactly sure how much you’re supposed to use, but I sprayed it all over my face for a few seconds until I felt confident in the coverage. This is how I used a mini sized can in five days, however, it was effective.
My makeup was flawless throughout the entire trip and didn’t move, fade or smear after 7+ hours of wear. And, trust me, it was hot and I was sweating a lot. At the end of the concert, my makeup looked just as good as it did when I applied it that morning. I’ve never experienced this with any other setting spray before. Usually, my makeup starts creasing or is smudged by the end of the day.
I’d especially like to note that I have dry skin and, even though this gives a matte finish, it didn’t dry out my skin or leave it patchy. The finish also isn’t a true matte, but is more of a blurred effect.
The ONE/SIZE by Patrick Starr On ‘Til Dawn Mattifying Waterproof Setting Spray is my new go-to setting spray. I can’t imagine using anything else.
PROS: Waterproof, smells amazing, leaves your makeup looking flawless all day long
CONS: It’s always sold out
Would I buy this product again? Yes!
