Happy Makeup Monday! Today we’re talking about the key to long lasting makeup, which is setting spray. There are a few great setting sprays out there, but my favourite is the MAC Cosmetics Prep + Prime Fix + Setting Spray.
I never leave the house without setting my face with setting spray. There are lots of other great setting sprays out there, like the Morphe Setting Spray, but the MAC Cosmetics Prep + Prime Fix + Setting Spray is my go-to for a few reasons. Keep reading to find out why!

The Product
The MAC Cosmetics Prep + Prime Fix + Setting Spray is a lightweight water mist and retails for $37 CAD. The setting spray hydrates the skin and finishes the makeup. The spray can also be used to sheer out foundation, intensify colour, and extend the wear of makeup. It is infused with a mix of green tea, chamomile, and cucumber to gently soothe and refresh the skin.
The MAC Cosmetics Prep + Prime Fix + Setting Spray is dermatologist- and ophthalmologist-tested, and is non-acnegenic. It is alcohol free, paraben free, and made without phthalates or formaldehyde-releasing agents.
The Review
The MAC Cosmetics Prep + Prime Fix + Setting Spray is a fabulous setting spray. Some setting sprays are too powerful or leave little droplets all over your face, which ruins makeup. The MAC Cosmetics Prep + Prime Fix + Setting Spray doesn’t do that.
I was worried at first because the spray is larger than the Morphe Setting Spray, which is an ultra fine mist, but the MAC Cosmetics Prep + Prime Fix + Setting Spray seals makeup with no droplets.
The MAC Cosmetics Prep + Prime Fix + Setting Spray also extends the wear of makeup noticeably. My makeup looks fresh at the end of the day, even after wearing a mask. In the mornings, I spray my beauty blender with the setting spray and pat it all over my face for extra protection.
You also don’t need to be wearing makeup to wear the MAC Cosmetics Prep + Prime Fix + Setting Spray. I carry it everywhere with me during the summer so I can hydrate my face when the weather gets too hot. It’s a versatile product to have in your makeup collection.
