As someone who is extremely pale, I’ve always struggled to find a bronzer that works well with my skin tone. Many bronzers out there look orange when applied when what I want is a bronzer that makes my skin look glowy and tan. The Tarte Amazonian Clay Waterproof Bronzer does just that.

The Product
The Tarte Amazonian Clay Waterproof Bronzer is, well, a waterproof bronzer. It retails for $40 CAD and the shade ‘Park Ave Princess’ is described as a highly pearled light yellow gold. The Tarte Amazonian Clay Waterproof Bronzer also comes in two matte shades: ‘Park Ave Princess’, a gold bronze, and ‘Hotel Heiress’, a deep bronze.
The bronzer is a mineral-based powder bronzer that claims to be sweatproof and can be used for bronzing, sculpting and contouring. It’s dermatologist-tested, waterproof, vegan, and formulated without mineral oil, triclosan and gluten.
The Review
I’ll admit, I was attracted to the Tarte Amazonian Clay Waterproof Bronzer because of the shade names. I’m a sucker for great packaging and names. I was also intrigued by the shade because it’s more of an earthy bronze than a tan bronze.
Like I mentioned before, it’s hard finding a bronzer that doesn’t appear orange on my skin. I was a bit nervous about trying the Tarte Amazonian Clay Matte Waterproof Bronzer, but it ended up being the perfect shade for me. It makes my skin tan, without looking orange because the colour is more rosy and muted. It’s very subtle, but you can build up the colour for your desired coverage.
The Tarte Amazonian Clay Matte Waterproof Bronzer also has specks of shimmer in it, so it makes your skin look glowing. I hesitated adding this because I don’t want people to think it has sparkles in it because it doesn’t. It’s a very slight shimmer that won’t make you look like you covered yourself in highlighter.
True to its name, the bronzer is waterproof which makes it perfect for summer. Another bonus is that the bronzer lasts you a long time. The package is average-sized, but I’ve found you don’t need a lot of product in one-go, so you can make it last a few months.
PROS: Average-priced, doesn’t leave skin looking orange, waterproof, cute packaging
CONS: None

Thank you for sharing! I’m always scared of the orange look too, so I’ll give this one a try! I love putting some bronzer in the winter so I don’t blend with the snow too much haha
