Skincare Sunday: Ole Henriksen Truth Barrier Booster Orange Ferment Vitamin C Essence

There are many benefits to using vitamin C in your skincare routine, which is why I added the Ole Henriksen Truth Barrier Booster Orange Ferment Vitamin C Essence to my morning skincare routine!

Honestly, I ordered the product by accident. I thought I was ordering the Ole Henriksen Vitamin C Truth Serum, but I must have ordered the wrong one. The Ole Henriksen Truth Barrier Booster Orange Ferment Vitamin C Essence wasn’t what I expected, however, I like it better than the serum.

If you’re not using vitamin C in your skincare routine, here’s why you should be. It’s an antioxidant that’s hydrating, brightening, helps fade hyperpigmentation, reduces the appearance of dark under eye circles, promotes collagen production, and so much more.

Now that I’ve introduced the Ole Henriksen Truth Barrier Booster Orange Ferment Vitamin C Essence to my routine, I’ll never go back. Keep reading to see why!

The Product

Ole Henriksen Truth Barrier Booster Orange Ferment Vitamin C Essence Review

The Ole Henriksen Truth Barrier Booster Orange Ferment Vitamin C Essence retails for $61 CAD. It is a skincare-boosting vitamin C essence that hydrates, visibly brightens, defends against pollution and free radicals, and preps your skin for the rest of your routine. It’s compatible with all skin types and targets fine lines, wrinkles, dryness and dullness.

The highlighted ingredients are:

  • Fermented orange peel extract, which helps nourish, condition, and refresh the skin
  • Orange stem cells, which help provide antioxidant protection
  • Vitamin C (Ethyl Ascorbic Acid), which helps brighten and defend skin against pollution

The texture of the Ole Henriksen Truth Barrier Booster Orange Ferment Vitamin C Essence is similar to that of a toner. It’s lightweight and absorbs easily while maintaining a glowy appearance.

This product is vegan, gluten-free, cruelty-free, and comes in recyclable packaging.

The Review

As I mentioned above, I thought I was ordering the Ole Henriksen Vitamin C Truth Serum, but I ended up getting the Ole Henriksen Truth Barrier Booster Orange Ferment Vitamin C Essence instead. There’s a few reasons I prefer the essence after trying it.

An essence is used similarly to toner. Its texture is lighter than a serum, so it’s applied first in your routine following your cleanser. The Ole Henriksen Truth Barrier Booster Orange Ferment Vitamin C Essence absorbs fast into the skin and immediately made my skin feel smooth and look brighter. It also makes great base for any serums you use.

Since using the essence in the morning, I’ve noticed my acne spots have faded and my skin looks brighter throughout the day. The bottle also comes with plenty of product, 4 oz, and you only need to use about two drops in the morning, so one bottle will last you a long time.

PROS: Brightens skin, helps fade pigmentation, hydrates skin, bottle contains lots of product, lightweight

CONS: None

Would I buy this product again? Yes! It’s one of my favourite vitamin C products I’ve tried.
