At this point, I should just rename this series “Products TikTok made me buy.” I saw the Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm on TikTok, specifically the “Poppy” shade, and immediately added it to my Sephora cart.
As someone with dry skin, I love collecting lip balms. You can never have too many! I especially love tinted lip balms as I’m always forgetting to reapply lipstick. I saw a few people say they wear the Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm in “Poppy” as a replacement for red lipstick and I had to try it for myself.

The Review
I received the Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm in the mail last week and I’m obsessed with it! The balm is extremely hydrating and soothing. It relieves chapped lips with just one use.
The balm has a lot of pigment while still being semi-sheer, and is long lasting. It lasts longer than any other tinted balm I’ve used and it’s a great replacement for lipstick if you’re looking for a more natural look.
As for the shade, “Poppy” is an orange-red tone as opposed to coral, which is how the Sephora website describes it. I love the look of red lipstick, but I hate applying it, which is why I ordered the shade “Poppy.” While it doesn’t give the same bold effect as red lipstick, it still gives that extra pop of colour, which I like. It’s not as red as I hoped, but I find this shade more wearable. If you’re looking for a true red, I’d suggest trying the shade “Cherry”
I wear the Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm in the shade “Poppy” with makeup and on its own. If you’re looking for a balm to wear day and night, I recommend trying one of the neutral shades, like “Vanilla.”
PROS: Tinted, hydrating, long-wearing
CONS: Pricey for a lip balm
Would I buy this again? Yes, but I’d try another shade!
