Why I Love the Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Luminous Powder Blush

Every time there’s a new Rare Beauty launch, I get so excited, and the launch of the Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Luminous Powder Blush was no exception.

One of the biggest struggles I have when purchasing new makeup is picking just one shade. Shortly after its release, I headed to Sephora to swatch the shades on my hand, but I was initially disappointed. The product appeared very sheer, which was surprising since it looked super pigmented in the marketing materials.

Despite my hesitation, I decided to give it a chance and purchased the shade Cheer (Selena’s custom shade). After almost a year of using this blush, I can confidently say it has become one of my most reached-for products!

The Product

Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Luminous Powder Blush

The Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Luminous Powder Blush retails for $36 CAD and is a lightweight, glowy blush with buildable, seamless, and silky colour. Available in six radiant finish shades, this medium-coverage blush is infused with shimmering pearls to add natural dimension to the skin.

This product is cruelty-free and formulated without parabens, making it a great clean beauty option.

The Review

Remember when I said I was disappointed by the swatch? Well, that changed completely once I applied the blush to my cheeks. The Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Luminous Powder Blush is extremely pigmented yet incredibly blendable. It acts as both a blush and highlighter in one, delivering a natural, soft glow without looking too glittery or harsh.

I’ve always loved layering the Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Liquid Blush with the Positive Light Silky Highlighter to create a luminous, rosy glow. However, this powder blush gives the same effect with way less effort—making it a perfect choice for both minimal and full-glam makeup days.

Why I Love It

One of my favourite things about this blush is its versatility. On days when I don’t feel like wearing a full face of makeup, I’ll simply apply concealer and this blush, and instantly, my skin looks fresh and put together. The blush’s glow adds so much dimension without requiring any extra steps.

That being said, this blush also works beautifully for a full glam look. It layers well over liquid blushes and blends effortlessly into the skin, creating a seamless, radiant finish.

PROS:

  • Blush and highlighter in one
  • Not glittery—just a natural, soft glow
  • Beautiful finish and easy to blend

CONS:

  • The product is delicate and will shatter if dropped (learned this the hard way)

Would I Recommend It?

Absolutely! The Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Luminous Powder Blush is a fantastic addition to any makeup collection. Whether you’re a makeup minimalist or someone who loves a radiant finish, this blush offers effortless colour, dimension, and glow all in one.

If you’re looking for a product that makes you look put together in seconds, this is definitely worth trying!
