One of the joys of winter is dealing with dry air and dry skin. I always switch out some products in the winter specifically to add hydration to my skin, which makes all the difference in my makeup routine as well.
I’m going to take you through my winter skincare routine and the products that I use daily. Remember, not all products work for everyone, so use this as inspiration to create your own skincare routine! For reference, my skin is dry to normal and my skin problems are redness and unevenness.
Cleanse
If I’m wearing makeup then my first step is to remove it. I use the Farmacy Green Clean Makeup Removing Cleansing Balm to remove and cleanse my face. I prefer using a cleansing balm than makeup wipes because it’s more sustainable and it feels better on the skin. There are so many to choose from, but the Farmacy one is my favourite.
Next, I’ll use the Youth to the People Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser to remove any leftover traces of makeup and make sure my face is extra clean. What I love about this cleanser is you can use it to remove makeup, so some days I’ll skip the makeup removing cleansing balm altogether.
Toner and Serum
Once my face is cleansed, I use the Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow PHA + BHA Pore-Tight Toner. This toner hydrates the skin and gives it a glow finish.
I have a variety of serums that I use depending on the day and whether it’s my morning or night routine. I usually go in first with the Harry Styles Pleasing Pearlescent Illuminating Serum. The serum is hydrating and makes the skin look glowy and airbrushed. I love using this serum on no-makeup days.
After, I’ll follow up with the Origins Dr. Andrew Weil For Origins™ Mega-Mushroom Relief & Resilience Soothing Treatment Lotion or the Youth to the People 15% Vitamin C + Clean Caffeine Energy Serum. I use the Origins serum if my skin has some redness to it and I use the Youth to the People serum when my skin needs a boost in the morning. At night, I always use the Sunday Riley Good Genes All-In-One AHA Lactic Acid Treatment.
Moisturizer
I end my routine with the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream Intense Hydration, which I wrote an in-depth review about for my Skincare Sunday series. It’s extremely thick and hydrating, which makes it great for dry skin in the winter. Then I use the First Aid Beauty FAB Skin Lab Retinol Eye Cream with Triple Hyaluronic Acid. It reduces dark under eye circles and fine lines.

Hi Katrina
Thanks so much for sharing, taking care of the skin In the summer is easy, but come winter, my skin do struggle and products that worked so well in winter does not seem to work anymore.
Really appreciate you sharing your tips.
